Mindo

After your arrival in Quito, we will drive two hours to the mysterious forests of Mindo. This region houses the greatest number of glassfrog species in the world, and the second greatest number of rainfrogs. There are good chances to photograph the elusive Pinocchio Anole (Anolis proboscis), the Ornate Rainfrog (Pristimantis ornatissimus) and the Mutable Rainfrog (Pristimantis mutabilis). Vipers are rare, but beautiful and, most of them, cloudforest endemics.

I can only thank you cordially and applaud you about our tour, how you arranged and conducted it, how you assisted and put the effort for a successful outcome. It's the best such tour I have experienced so far, likely because you are the best. My sincere congratulations.

We enjoyed exploring the forest with Alejandro Arteaga and learning from him about the Ecuadorian wildlife. Hopefully, we will be able to tour Ecuador again soon with Tropical Herping.

The guides have a true passion for Ecuador’s natural resources. I was quite impressed not only with their ability to find species, but their attention to the well-being of the snakes and frogs we found. Their knowlege of herpetofauna and photography is amazing!
